Sierra Richmond, DPT, Functional Dry Needling, CSCS, Pelvic Floor PT

Sierra Richmond comes to Ascension Physical Therapy after completing a year-long orthopedic clinical residency program in Madison, WI in 2017. While in Madison, Sierra taught at the UW-Madison PT program, took part in extensive didactic orthopedic training and presented five clinical case studies as part of her residency training.

She returned to Montana in 2017 excited to care for the community of Helena.

Sierra specializes in orthopedic rehabilitation for all ages, sports injury (especially running and skiing), running analysis and pelvic floor rehabilitation. She is passionate about educating the community about pelvic floor dysfunction in patients of all genders and ages.

Sierra emphasizes a team-based approach in the clinical partnership with her patients to develop the tools and establish the habits that help them move better and return to their desired activities and to achieve their fitness goals.

A graduate of Carroll College, Sierra earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana. Sierra pursued clinical experiences in Helena with Montana VA Health System and worked in Big Sky treating winter athletes. She also participated in a sports and pediatric clinical internship in Cape Town, South Africa.

  • Strength and Conditioning Specialist through NSCA

  • Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Level 1, 2A and 2B through Herman & Wallace Institute

 

Sierra enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her fiancé John and their dog Neko. She is often found running on Helena’s trails, skiing (alpine, backcountry and Nordic), mountain biking, hiking, backpacking and floating on Montana’s rivers.
